what a week
it’s been a tough week. a friend died, and this has been a week of mourning and reflection.
I sorta came to a conclusion. one that seems obvious and obscure at the same time. when we lose someone, it hurts. but, it only hurts because we got something from the person we lost. it is important to focus on what we gained from those we have lost, and not on how much it hurts to have lost.
:P
Hi Frank. I’m very sorry to read of your loss. Am I safe in assuming that since this person was a fried s/he was around our age? A younger person’s death adds the extra element of feeling ‘robbed’ or ‘gypped’ out of what should have been additional decades of friendship. We find ourselves cursing the powers that be for taking a loved one too early. You’ve hit it exactly when you say the focus has to be on what you’ve gained. Hang in there, my friend.
