new tattoo

Filed under: Journal — Norm @ 10:40 pm

i’m thinking about getting pi tattooed on my arm as a kinda band. but, i want to do it in upward reading binary. why? because i’m a geek, that’s why.

here’s an example (maybe, if yer screen resolution is high enough. it should look like four rows of ones and zeros. you read the binary from the bottom up. each column is a digit of pi.)

i shoulda known better

not sure if you know this, but the tape player in my truck bites. the sound just kinda kicks out, randomly (scientifically, there is a connection between the cooling system and when the sound kicks off). anyway, i was trying to listen to the pod but no sound. so, on goes npr and it’s the damn idiot. he is doing some press conference.

how on earth did he get elected? twice?!? this ass can’t put a sentence together, and he telegraphs the talking points so bad! i hate him. i hate what he stands for. i hate his politics. i hate that he wins. i hate his war. i hate the lies.

maybe it’s v for vendetta, maybe it’s the endless war. maybe it’s the stupid snow on the ground. i don’t know. i just feel like i’ve taken enough. i’m at my breaking point, you know?

so, how does one guy with a zero traffic blog take on the whitehouse? what can i do that will make any difference?

if you are reading this, please give it some thought. leave a comment. let’s do something about the shit that’s being done to us and in our names!

3 50 words on travel

fire on the road

it’s not every day that
i see the side of
the road on fire. flames
so high i could see
them 5 miles ahead. the
heat from them was noticeable
in the truck. a cop
sped by me to get
there. what did he think
his mars lights would do?

look left

on i-72, going east at
80 mph, look left then
look right. check the mirrors.
here’s what you can see.
way off are some trees,
over there is a little
town, and a lot of
farm fields. mostly what you
can see is the sky.
no shortage of open space.

dark dan ryan

slower in the rain, at
night, than morning during rush-hour.
taking the entrance at 65
in the rain and bouncing
around crazily, completely out of
control. next day, at 45,
horrified at the condition of
the road. darkness and the
hubris of zero-visibility making the
trip different and the same.
