2005-11-05 synchronicity

Filed under: Journal — Norm @ 3:24 pm

i have noticed in the past that there seems to be a certain amount of synchronicity in my life. The Rothko picture being in two places, not that that is very weird, but that they were faded the same way and that i predicted it. that was weird.

well, lately, i have been having completely random pieces of music running through my head. yesterday, it was the song she succubus sings to chef in south park. i am not sure where that came from. it was just there. this morning, it was some new york dolls song. i thought to myself, “i should find that song and play it to clear my head.” did i actually do this; no, of course not. time passes. i sit on the couch and watch some tv. i fuck around on the interweb. i download a new gtd thingy. i make some coffee. i sit down to write more of the novel. i spend about an hour putting a playlist together for mpg321. i fire it up and start writing.

because of the asided problem, i ditched mpg321 and whipped out the ipod and started it on shuffle. wouldn’t you know it, that ny dolls is the FIRST song that plays. in the words of sam, “SPOOOOOOOKY!”

so the question is, what is the connection? why that song? i haven’t heard it in months. it is kinda catchy, i admit, but it isn’t a good song. what caused it to get stuck in my head? a dream? the aethers? and how did my ipod know?

These were the gas prices at the pump today. Can you believe this crap?!? I was willing to put up the price gouging when we were at $3/gal. but this is too damn much! Shame! Shame on you!
